“I don’t have any of the usual fitness industry credentials to include near my name. Unfortunately, life gave me the test before the coursework and I tested out of the prerequisites. Becoming A708994 in the Ohio Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation at 22 years old for causing an automobile accident while drinking and driving, I needed to survive Hell on Earth…2555 days at Allen Oakwood Correctional Institution. This was the test and the version of me that was going to be released 7 years later was the grade. The odds were not in my favor, as I was 50 pounds overweight, newly sober after 4 years of alcoholism, mentally weak, immature and deeply depressed. I chose one of two options and the one I chooses included incredibly hard work because in that trial of resilience, there is no taking days off, sleeping in, getting to it tomorrow, tapping out of a workout or excuses…
Thankfully, that tensile test ended. And the lessons learned from that successful experiment transferred home with me. As I restarted my life post incarceration and pursued a career in mental health counseling, I extrapolated the behaviors that proved to be successful in that past trial to all areas of my life. As I started Savage Laboratories, my vision was to bring the same lessons to others, without the grueling process of Hormesis that I had to personally undertake. Marathons, triathlons, powerlifting meets, CrossFit competitions, trail runs, ruck races, pump & runs…the formula worked for me and I know that it can work for you. ”

“I started Olympic-style weightlifting in high school as a supplement to my competitive swim training. I quickly fell in love with the sport and realized how effective the Olympic movements are for transferring strength and power to athletics. When I decided to hang up the goggles, I took my athletic endeavors all in on Olympic weightlifting, and founded The Ohio State Weightlifting Club in 2021. I ran and operated the club for several years where it grew to become one of the largest collegiate weightlifting programs in the country. I competed at collegiate nationals 3 times in the 81 and 89kg weight class, competing in the A session in my Junior year. I then passed on the torch to the next generation of collegiate lifters and moved up to the Cleveland area to start my engineering career. Outside of work and the gym I started a small farm where I work to grow nutrient-dense heritage meat and heirloom produce. I am a firm believer that the Olympic lifts develop functional and athletic bodies regardless of your athletic background by promoting speed, strength, mobility, power, and confidence. Anyone can perform the Olympic movements and I look forward to teaching and coaching you all as we get stronger and faster together!”

“I've been an athlete my whole life, competing in gymnastics, softball, volleyball, cross country, and track. I discovered CrossFit in 2008, earned my CF-L1 in 2013, and have competed in more than 15 local CrossFit competitions. I’ve coached at Buckeye CrossFit in Columbus, OH, and CrossFit 440 in Mentor, OH, and even ran my own personal training company—End of Days Fitness—which focused on functional fitness. Outside the gym, I love hiking, mountaineering, camping, hunting, rucking, and strongman training. I bring my passion for movement, adventure, and bringing fun to every class I lead”
